H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, led the delegation to attend the 2015 Joint Annual Meeting World Bank/International Monetary Fund from 8-11 October 2015, in Lima, Peru. The purpose of the meeting is to provide a forum for economic policy makers from IMF/WB member countries, to discuss on the current situation and perspective of the global and regional economy, challenges and policy actions to promote sustainable and inclusive growth. Participants in the meeting are Mme Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the IMF, Mr. Jim Yong Kim, President of the WB, Ministers and Governors, as well as representatives from private sector and civil society, from 180 countries.
This year, H.E. Chea Chanto was also elected to be chairman of the 48th Joint Annual Meeting for WB/IMF Governors of Southeast Asia Constituency. This meeting aims at updating the Governors on the policy issues of the IMF and the WB, and on various issues related to changing demographics and sustaining long-term growth, and the global financial stability outlook and implications on Asia.
