On behalf of H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), H.E. Neav Chanthana, Deputy Governor, on July 26, 2016, met with delegates of the US-ASEAN Business Council.
This meeting was attended by the NBC’s senior officials and technical staff as well as Mr. William G. Lafferrandre III, head of the delegation and members of the senior officials of 10 leading American companies. The purpose of the meeting is to explore the market and economic situation as well as the further expansion of trade and investment opportunities in the country especially after the Cambodia became a member of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The delegation also expressed their interest on the use of the payment system (National Shared Switch) for online payment of the visa. Meanwhile, the delegation also supported the national strategy on the promotion of the use of the riel.
Finally, H.E deputy governor is grateful to the US government for providing support to the NBC through technical assistance and training.
