On 22 November 2016, H.E. Chea Chanto, the Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia allowed H.E. Serge Kolb, Deputy Governor of Banque Centrale Du Luxembourg to pay a courtesy call at National bank of Cambodia. Talking opportunity of his visit H.E. Serge Kolb presented on “the Challenges and Opportunities for Cambodian Economy” to the NBC’s young economic and relevant staff. H.E. Serge Kolb highlighted on key issues of Cambodian Economy including: 1/- De-dollarization: how to increase the riel’s attraction, 2/- Credit growth and real estate market development: what lessons could be drawn from macro-prudential policies in selected Asian countries and the EU, and 3/- Diversification and competitiveness in Cambodia: what policies in the medium and long term.
The National bank of Cambodian and The Banque Centrale Du Luxembourg has always strengthened the cooperation since early 2000s. Through this close cooperation, BCL provided scholarship to NBC’s staff to study in master degree in finance as well as opportunities to NBC staff on the jobs training at BCL.
