On 29th-30th January 2020, Siem Reap, the National Bank of Cambodia, in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat and the UNCDF, organized the regional workshop on “Monitoring National Financial Inclusion Strategy Capacity Building Workshop for ASEAN Member States”. In this workshop, 35 participants from ASEAN’s central banks, ministries/agencies, and development partners discussed the monitoring and evaluation framework to improve financial inclusion in ASEAN.
H.E. Rath Sovannorak, Assistant Governor and Director General of Banking Supervision, said that “there is a link between financial inclusion and financial stability and currently it has become a cornerstone of economic activities. In the case of Cambodia, this requires data availability and adequate resources for the monitoring and evaluation framework to ensure effective and timely implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2019-2025.”
