H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, presided over the inauguration ceremony of the pagoda gate and other achievements at Wat Porthi Prueksa Karam in North Trapeang Pring Village, Trapeang Pring Commune, Teuk Chhou District, Kampot Province on the morning of Saturday, July 27, 2024. 
 
During this event, H.E. Governor urged Buddhist followers and local villagers to preserve the pagoda’s accomplishments together as shared assets. Additionally, she invited all individuals, particularly those in Kampot province, to participate in the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony of the Funan-Techo Canal on August 5, 2024. This significant occasion will be presided over by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. 
 
It is worth highlighting that the Funan-Techo Canal project is a significant initiative led by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the King of Cambodia. Executed by the Royal Government of Cambodia during the 7th-mandate of the National Assembly, this initiative will deliver numerous benefits to the people of Kampot province. These advantages include the establishment of commercial zones, logistics hubs, and new port communities, alongside the expansion of agricultural, irrigation, aquaculture, and livestock development areas, as well as the promotion of tourism.
