In the evening of July 18, 2016, H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, allowed Mr. Marzunisham Omar, Executive Director of Southeast Asia Voting Group (SEAVG) Constituency of the IMF, to pay a courtesy call and discuss about the working progress of the SEAVG Constituency. Mr. Omar visit has been made during the IMF 2016 Article IV mission so as to see and witness Cambodia’s macroeconomic development. He congratulated Cambodian government and the National Bank of Cambodia on the efforts to develop the banking system and the economy. He optimistically supported the IMF assessment on Cambodia’s economic growth, and he stands ready to support Cambodia through the provision of IMF technical assistance in order to further build staff’s capacity and to promote the development of Cambodia’s economy and banking system.
