On August 31, 2017, H.E Chea Serey, Director General of Central Banking of the National Bank of Cambodia had a meeting with the Payment Committee of the Association of Bank in Cambodia. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss some important policy issues for the development of payment system in Cambodia. The Payment Committee also updated the NBC on the activities recently carried out by the Committee such as the establishment of the Payment Committee structure and the action plan for promoting the usage of Fast Payment and CSS. The NBC also informed the Committee of the future plan which will be implemented regarding the development of payment infrastructure in Cambodia namely the development of real-time gross settlement (RTGS) and the case study of digital currency.
