On August 25th, 2018, Her Excellency CHEA Serey, Assistant Governor and Director General of the National Bank of Cambodia, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of Maybank Silk Weaving Training Centre in Takeo province. The expansion of Maybank Silk Weaving Training Centre will continue to actively contribute to providing opportunities for women in the community to gain knowledge and skills as well as create job opportunities for them so that they are able to make their own living to become independent women. The income they earn will allow them to support their family's livelihood, such as the ability to send their children to school, and especially savings and investment. Meanwhile, Her Excellency also encourages all women weavers to .try to learn in order to develop their family economy, community, and society. Her Excellency strongly hopes that all institutions will continue to actively contribute to investing in providing knowledge and skills to women, whether in urban or rural areas.
