H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, met with the IMF Article IV Mission led by Mr. Davide Furceri, Chief of the Mission to Cambodia from 18-31 October 2023. The mission is to monitor the situation of Cambodian economy in 2023 and the outlook.
H.E. Dr. welcomed the presence of IMF Article IV Mission that has always provided an in-depth assessment of macroeconomic progress and suggested policy recommendations for implementation to support the development and resilience of Cambodian economy. H.E. Dr. also briefed about the progress of Cambodian economy and the challenges as well as macroeconomic policies that the Royal Government of Cambodia and the National Bank of Cambodia have been implementing to support economic recovery and address the risks, especially the uncertainty of global economy.
In this occasion, H.E. Dr. also expressed sincere thanks to the IMF for previous technical assistances and training courses that have significantly contributed to human resource development. H.E. Dr. also allowed NBC management and technical staffs to discuss in details with the IMF mission to exchange the assessments, and provide additional information and data to the IMF mission.
