On July 11, 2024, the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), in collaboration with The Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia (BACK), organized Stakeholder Engagement Workshop on “Legal Issues Related to Banking Practices” at the Center for Banking Studies (CBS), which was presided over by H.E. Kith Sovannarith, Director General of Banking Supervision of the National Bank of Cambodia, and H.E. Ly Chantola, President of The Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The workshop was attended by about 190 participants including participants from the National Bank of Cambodia, The Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia, law firms, banking and financial institutions, Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC), Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA), and Credit Bureau Cambodia Co., Ltd (CBC). They actively provided the workshop with inputs on hypothec, checks, and succession.
Participants also suggested for future participation from stakeholders from other relevant ministries and institutions, aiming to obtain a comprehensive discussion and delivering a practical responses to the issues in the industry. The workshop is the first collaboration under the guidance of the two institutions’ top management.
