H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), received a courtesy call by the Article IV Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Mr. Kenichiro Kashiwase, new Chief of the Mission to Cambodia on September 17, 2024 at the National Bank of Cambodia.
Mr. Kenichiro Kashiwase specified the objective of the three-week mission, saying that the Article IV 2024 is to make assessments on economic situation and provide policy recommendations to support the Cambodia’s economic recovery. Taking the opportunity, he applauded the great achievements made by the National Bank of Cambodia in maintaining macroeconomic stability, banking development and payment technology advancement in the country.
H.E. Governor welcomed Mr. Kenichiro Kashiwase and the IMF’s mission staff who have visited Cambodia and highlighted the economic and banking situations in Cambodia over the months of 2024 to the delegates. In addition, H.E. Governor has looked forward to receiving the results of the Article IV Mission and discussing the assessment as well as recommendations to be proposed. She also paid gratitude to the IMF for supporting the National Bank of Cambodia, in particular in the human development and technical assistance.
