H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), presided over the official launching Ceremony of Cross-border QR Code Payments between the National Bank of Cambodia and Ant International via Bakong and Alipay+ on October 14, 2024 in Phnom Penh, the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Edward Yue, General Manager of Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand of Ant International as well as representatives of banking and financial institutions. With this initiative, Alipay+ users will be able to seamlessly make payments to merchants in Cambodia by scanning KHQR codes. This will facilitate the payment for goods and services to businesses in Cambodia with accounts denominated in Cambodian riels from Alipay+ customers.
