The National Bank of Cambodia and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas convened the 2nd Annual Bilateral Meeting on 18 August 2025 in Panglao City, Philippines, under the co-chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, and H.E. Dr. Eli Remolona, Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The management of both central banks exchanged views on macroeconomic developments, the banking sector, financial literacy promotion, and consumer protection.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to accelerate collaboration on the bilateral cross-border QR code payment connectivity project, which is expected to be launched in the near future. This initiative will further facilitate trade and tourism between the people of both countries.
