H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, presided over the official launch of cross-border QR code payment between Cambodia and Singapore Phase 1: “Cambodia scans QR Codes in Singapore”, on November 12, 2025 on the sidelines of the Singapore FinTech Festival 2025 in Singapore.

The launch enables Cambodian people who hold bank accounts in national currency, Khmer Riel, to make payments conveniently, quickly and securely when visiting Singapore by using the Bakong app or other mobile banking applications to scan RoamQR codes available at SGQR merchants across Singapore.
